Josephine (Akers) Beaver

Josephine Beaver, age 88, of Galion, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Oak’s of Brecksville. She was born February 18, 1933 in Betsy Layne, KY, the daughter of the late Amos and Ellie (Gray) Akers. Josephine had been employed with National Latex for over 50 years before retiring. She enjoyed crochet, knitting, dancing and the outdoors. She most enjoyed spending time with her nephews, great nephews and great- great nephews throughout their lives.

On May 6, 1988 Josephine married Robert Eugene Beaver who preceded her in death in 2002. Survivors include her niece, Peg (Larry) Harper of Ashland County; her great nephews, Rickey Akers Jr. of Ashland, Cody Akers of Ashland, and Seth Stackhouse of Austin, TX.; her great- great nephews, Theo, Axel and Knox; along with her niece and caregiver, Teresa (Rick) Melbar of Independence, OH.

In addition to her parents and husband, Robert, Josephine was preceded in death by her brothers, Lee Akers and Charlie Akers; and nephew, Rick Akers Sr.

The family will receive friends at Heyl Funeral Home on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Following Josephine’s wishes there will be no service. Online condolences may be left for the family.
