Joshua (Joshie) Ryan Schoonover, 32 of Ashland, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Friday October 25th, 2024. Born on November 28th, 1991 in Ashland, Ohio. He was the son of Cheryl and Robert (Kane) Gunzenhauser of Ashland, Ohio, and James and Shelly Schoonover of Ashland, Ohio.
He was a graduate of Ashland High School class of 2010. He has just been accepted back into nursing school. He was excited to get back into the career he’d always wanted. Josh enjoyed traveling all over to work music festivals and concerts. He was always the life of the party. His infectious energy and aura stood out amongst crowds. Josh was a free spirit who always found a reason to celebrate life. If it meant he could wear a cute outfit, he was there.
His family and friends were the foundation of his life. He survived by grandparents Patricia A. Kane of Ashland Ohio and Robert P. Schoonover of Ashland, Ohio. As well as many siblings, Megan (Garyt) Keene of Polk, Ohio. Haley Sexton (Tyler Cranmore) of Ashland, Ohio. Robert (Samantha) Sexton of Ashland, Ohio. Christopher Gunzenhauser of Ashland, Ohio. Bonita Abram of Ashland, Ohio. Amanda (Jennifer) Derr of Ashland, Ohio. Bobby (Shannon) Graham of Mansfield, Ohio. Joe Graham (Jessica Rice) of Mansfield. Cody Krichbaum of Jeromesville, Ohio. Kirsten Ash of Ashland, Ohio. Steven (Shelby) Ferullo of Wooster, Ohio.
He had many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends. His many nieces and nephews were his best friends. He loved making memories and spoiling them.
He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Gene P. Kane of Ashland and Grandma Darlene Biggs of Ashland.
At this time there will be no calling hours. We will have a private family memorial and a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to VFW post 1067 of Ashland, Ohio. 125 East Main Street, Ashland OH.
