Joyce (Slate) Agee

Joyce Agee age 77 of Ashland, passed away on Friday April 12, 2019 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home.

Born in Richlands Virginia on December 12, 1941 the daughter of John and Garnie (Taylor) Slate, she had been a resident of Ashland since 1977.

Mrs. Agee was formerly an employee of Faultless Laboratories and retired from Abbott Labs.

On May 18, 1970 Joyce was married to Dr. Paul Agee who survives.

In addition to her husband Paul of Joyce is survived by one son and daughter in law, Mark and Shari Agee of Ashland; grandson Joshua and Emma Agee of Ashland and granddaughter Taylor Agee of Ashland. Also surviving are two grandsons Ezra Agee and Arlo Agee of Ashland. She is also survived by one sister and brother in law, Joann and George Carty of Fanning Springs Florida and two brothers and sisters in law, Dean and Ruby Slate of Claypool Hill Virginia and Steve and Sarah Slate of Claypool Hill Virginia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, four brother and four sisters.

Mrs. Agee was a member of Grace Brethren Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, loved animals, was an amazing cook and loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and sporting events.

Funeral services will be held on April 16, 2019 at the Grace Brethren Church at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. till the time of the funeral service at the church.
