Juanita M (Gerber) Shinsky

Juanita Marie Shinsky formerly from Amherst age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday March 11, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones at her residence.

Juanita was born in Amherst, Ohio on October 9th 1941, the daughter of Clarence and Geraldine (Younkin) Gerber. Juanita worked for Krogers for some years and later began working as a Correctional Officer at Grafton Correctional Institute in 1989 where she retired from in 2002. Juanita enjoyed traveling to the warm states with her Husband in her retirement years where they resided for 19 years in Foley Alabama and enjoyed retirement together. Juanita enjoyed getting dressed up, getting her hair and nails done, going shopping, crafting, going on cruises, socializing, spending time with her family and watching her grandkids and great grandkids grow up.

In 1961 Juanita married Jerome B Shinsky who was the love of her life for over 50 years and proceeded in her death in March of 2019. Surviving children include her daughter Cynthia (Richard) Blough of Mifflin, Michael Shinsky of Mifflin. Surviving Grandchildren include Jessica (Gabriel ) Vaughn of Ashland, Tyler ( Chelsea Vanhouten) Mcneely of Lucas, Miranda Shinsky of Willard, Kristy (Lonnie) Berkshire of Wooster, Jennifer Blough (Cody Reeder) of Ontario. Surviving Great Grandchildren Include Chloe, Silas, Shelby, Clay, Oaklee, Remy and Chase. Surviving furry grand babies include Bailey, Lindsey, Max, Gizmo, Bella.

Surviving siblings include Judi (Paul) Sweeny of Naples Florida, Ernie (Colleen) Gerber of Walton Hills, Jeff (Kathy) Gerber of Jacksonville Florida, and sister n law Charlene (Richard) Schibley of Elyria. Also many Nieces and nephews among her siblings.

In addition to Her husband Jerome, she was proceeded in death by her Parents Clarence and Geraldine Gerber and great grand daughter Presley.
