Larry C. DePriest went home to be with his Lord February 28, 2022. He was the son of Robert Noah and Hester Lucy DePriest of Benton County, Tennessee; the youngest of their nine children. He had one older brother and seven older sisters who loved him, even though he got most of the attention. He graduated from high school in 1955, then moved to Ashland, Ohio where he has been a resident since. He spent four years in the US Air Force serving his country as a jet engine technician. Later he worked for Hess and Clark and retired from U Brand Corporation as a pattern maker
In 1959 he married his dear wife, Emily Jo Kahl, who preceded him. Surviving him are; one daughter, Vicki (Tom) Robinson of Jeromesville; one son, Phillip (Ann) DePriest of New Richmond, Ohio; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren along with many brothers and sisters in Christ.
He was a member of Park Street Brethren Church where he had served as deacon, board member, choir member, and gardener. Larry loved Mother Earth and was greatly saddened by what man has done to it. He was an avid gardener and loved every aspect of it working in the soil, growing, and sharing his knowledge. He was a believer in the saying “Vegetables for the body, Flowers for the soul”. His flower beds were enjoyed by all who passed by and he loved to share the abundant harvest from his garden. He was an experienced woodworker, he enjoyed making things for his family, and restoring furniture. One of his favorite things to do was to take a broken- down chair and transform in into something beautiful and useful. He said it always reminded him of what Lord Jesus does with a broken- down life for those who will trust him as their Savior and Lord.
