Larry Hargis Obituary

Larry K. Hargis age 68, of Ashland, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at UH Samaritan Medical Center.  He was born November 14, 1951 in Shelby, Ohio, the son of the late Bernard and Mildred (Baldridge) Hargis.  Larry was a 1970 graduate of Plymouth High School.  He had been a truck driver for over 30 years before retiring in 2014.  Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during Viet Nam.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Club 2178.  Larry was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and target shooting.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always there for everyone.

Survivors include his sons, Brian Hargis of Norwalk and Dan Hargis of Republic; his daughter Kimberly Marett of Shelby; his grandchildren, Gavin Hargis, Bentley Devlin, Annie Marett and Evelynn Marett; along with his cousin, Paul (Brenda) Jones.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his grandson, Hunter Barnett.

A Memorial service will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Don Earlenbaugh officiating.  Military honors will be presented by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  .
