Leona L. (Cebulski) Farrao

Leona L. Farrao age 86, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at UH Samaritan Medical Center.  She was born July 21, 1933 in Cleveland, the daughter of Leo and Julia (Janus) Cebulski.  Leona had been a resident of Ashland since 1972 and had been employed with Myers Services for over 20 years before retiring in 1998.  She was a member of St. Edward Church.  Leona enjoyed listening and dancing to Polka Music.  She also enjoyed spending with her family whether it was holidays or a family picnic.  She was proud of being chosen runner up for the Ashland County Fair Queen in 2016.

On November 22, 1958 Leona married Donald R. Farrao Sr. who preceded her in death in 2000.

Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Donald and Tamy Farrao Jr. of Ashland; her daughter, Donna Dienstberger of Ashland; her grandchildren, Eric Thornton of Charleston, SC., Adam Thornton of Ashland, Cord “Alex” ( Nikki Elkins) Thornton of Ashland, Tyson Dienstberger of Piqua, OH., Ryan (Arielle) Dienstberger of Ashland, Angie Farrao of Ashland, Tony (Emily) Farrao of Jeromesville, and Julie Farrao of Ashland; along with her greatgrandchildren, Rylee Farrao, Jackson Thornton, Lilly Dienstberger, and Harper Dienstberger.

In addition to her husband Donald, Leona was preceded in death by her parents and son in-law, Kyle Dienstberger.

Funeral Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Rod Kreidler officiating.  The Rite of Committal will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Leona’s memory to St. Edward Church 501 Cottage St.  Ashland, Ohio 44805.
