Linda Lou (Feichtner) Conkle

Linda Lou (Feichtner) Conkle, age 57 of Ashland, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her children. She was born December 6, 1963, in Bucyrus, OH, the daughter of Joyce and Carl Feichtner. Linda had a bachelor’s degree in education. She had been employed as a high school family and consumer science teacher for 13 years with Plymouth High School and Lucas High School and most recently had been a substitute teacher with Ashland City Schools from 2003 until 2020. Linda was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Chatfield, Ohio. She had been involved with Taft PTO; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (formerly FHA); numerous Ashland athletic and music parent groups; and was a supportive parent in Ashland County 4-H and Boy Scout Troop 586.

On July 28, 1990, Linda married Richard Conkle who survives. Also surviving are her son, Kyle Conkle of Ashland; daughters, Madalynn Conkle of Columbus and Megan Conkle of Ashland; her mother, Joyce (Hartschuh) Feichtner of Chatfield; brother, Glen Feichtner of New Washington; along with her sisters, Deb (Ron) Gerhart of Bucyrus and Vickie (Tim) Weise of Ft. Myers, FL.

Linda was preceded in death by her father Carl Feichtner and grandparents Marvin and Hattie Hartschuh and Clarence and Edna Feichtner.

Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Zach Holdridge officiating. Burial will follow at Nazareth Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Linda’s memory to Ashland County Cancer Association, Leiomyosarcoma Support & Direct Research Foundation, The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (to Steps for Sarcoma Walk/Run Fund if donating by cancer type) or Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.
