Marilyn Hill, age 61, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital. She was born April 30, 1960 in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy (Crawford) Johancen. Marilyn had been employed with Mcgraw-Hill Companies for 15 years, and most recently had been employed with Gerwig’s White Barn Market for the past 10 years. Marilyn’s door was always open for her friends and family. She truly enjoyed making people happy, she loved and was loved by her neighbors. She was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and beer drinker. She enjoyed playing poker and cookouts.
In 1981 Marilyn married Michael James Hill who preceded her in death in 1988. Survivors include her son, Michael (Mark) Lange of Archbold, OH.; her grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Hill and Gavin Hill; her brothers, Harry (Rose) Johancen, Wayne (Paula) Johancen, Daniel (Melissa) Johancen, Larry (Sandy) Johancen and William (Bev) Johancen; sisters, Alice Briggs, Doreen Lally, and Rosemary Ninzy; sister in-law, Jeanette Johancen; numerous nieces and nephews; along with her beloved dog Bailey.
In addition to her parents and husband, Michael, Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, James Hill; brothers, Charles Michael Johancen and Gerald Johancen; and sisters, Dorothy “Dottie” Brosczcuk and Trudy Johancen.
There will be a Celebration of Marilyn’s life held Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. held at 921 Co. Rd. 601 Polk, Ohio 44866. “If you have Cleveland Browns attire, wear it proudly, just as she would!”
