Michael Edward Coffman

Michael Edward Coffman age 59, of Kipton, Ohio passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Cleveland, following a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.  He was born February 11, 1961 in Ashland, the son of Ralph and Shirley (Coffman) Scyoc Sr.  Michael had worked in Maintenance for the South Georgia Technical College for over 15 years and most recently had been employed with the Mansfield Correctional Institution where he was a cook.  He enjoyed reading, cooking and writing in his journal.  Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Kipton Community Church.

Survivors include his parents, Ralph and Shirley Scyoc Sr. of Lagrange; his daughter, Terri Rae Coffman of Texas; his grandchildren, Erin Friel and Michael Coffman; his sister, Tracey Ramirez of Georgia; his brothers, Ralph (Kim) Scyoc Jr. of Medina, and Daryl Scyoc of Arizona; his nieces and nephews, Kristy Gleeson, Amy Gleeson, Cory Gleeson, Stephany Gleeson, Dava Gleeson, and Wayne Scyoc; along with several Uncles.

Michael was preceded in death by his infant twin brothers, brother, Ronald; and his nephews, Nathan and Ryan Gleeson.

Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Lee Stull officiating.  Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made in Michael’s memory to the Kipton Community Church 511 Church St. Kipton, Ohio 44049.
