Michael Jerome Shinsky

Michael Jerome Shinsky age 55 passed away unexpectedly at UH Samaritan Hospital on October 16,2024 surrounded by loved ones.

Michael was born on November 11th, 1968 and was raised in Amherst Ohio. He was the son of Jerome and Juanita (Gerber) Shinsky. Michael was an avid motocross racer in his younger years and never gave up the love and passion for motocross racing. Michael spent a lot of his earlier years at Amherst Meadowlerks, Malvern, Canal Fulton, Norwalk Raceway Park, and Smithroad Raceway. He also enjoyed NASCAR, Football, and Baseball. He loved to watch the Guardians, OSU, and Alabama. His favorite NASCAR driver was Tony Stewart in NASCAR and drag racing. He moved to Ashland County in 2002 and further moved to Gulf Shores Alabama where he resided for 8 years. He enjoyed spending time with his parents in Gulf Shores Alabama. He moved back to Ashland,Ohio in 2021. He had been employed at Elyria Foundry, Walmart, and Home Depot.

Michael is survived by his daughter Miranda Shinsky and grandson (Chase), sister Cynthia (Richard) Blough, niece Jessica (Gabriel) Vaughn, nephew Tyler (Chelsea) McNeely, aunt Judi (Paul) Sweeney, uncle Ernie (Colleen) Gerber, uncle Jeff (Kathy) Gerber, and aunt Charlene (Dick) Schibley. He also leaves behind many cousins, great nieces and nephews, and step nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Juanita Shinsky and grandparents.

At this time there will be no service. A Celebration of life will take place at a later date.
