Naomi E. (Cantrell) McFrederick

Naomi E. McFrederick age 84, of Ashland, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at her daughter’s residence in Kissimmee, FL.  She was born February 4, 1936 in Buchanan, VA., the daughter of the late James Washington and Goldie Jane (McGlothlin) Cantrell.  Naomi had lived most all of her life in Ashland.  She was a Homemaker and had been employed with the Ashland Rubber Plant.  She was a member of the Ashland Eagles Auxiliary.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, glass work, auction sales and casino gambling.  She was also known for her wine making.

On December 31, 1958 Naomi married Kenneth Herbert McFrederick who preceded her in death in 2000.  Survivors include her daughters, Loretta (Jeff) Martin of Ashland and Teresa (Walt) Suter of Kissimmee, FL.; her grandchildren, Casey (Ernie Young) Pyles, Justin (Mallory) Suter, and Chad Martin; her great grandchildren, Blane Young, Ryleigh Young, Tabitha Martin, Amber Martin and Kodi Martin.  Also surviving are her sisters, Annabelle (Ray) McDonald, Mary Crawford, Erma (Joe) Horne and Carrie Hammond; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Kenneth, Naomi was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlene McFrederick; grandson, Kenny Pyles; and her brothers, James Lewis Cantrell, John Lee Cantrell and Orison Cantrell.

Graveside services will be held at Savannah Cemetery on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Doug Magers officiating.  Heyl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made in Naomi’s memory to the Ashland County Cancer Assoc. 1011 E.
