Orval J. Schaeg

Orval J. Schaeg age 64, of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 9, 2022. He was born in Ashland on September 30, 1957, the son of the late Edwin A. and L. Pearl (Mattingley) Schaeg. Orval had lived most all of his life in Ashland. He was a truck driver and most recently had been employed with Tobias Farms and previously with Dart Trucking Company. He enjoyed working on cars, scrapping and his work driving.On March 3, 1978 Orval married Dixie Lee (Winebrenner) Schaeg who preceded him in death in 2016. Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Willis of Ashland; step-daughters, Peggy Lee Dillon of Texas, Robin (Billy) Baughman of Ashland and Tuesday Bodiford of Ashland; 10 grandchildren along with several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Margie (Ralph) Snyder of Pennsylvania; brothers, Terry (Barb) Schaeg of Ashland and Dwight (Cathy) Schaeg of Ashland; and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dixie,  Orval was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Robert.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday September 23, 2022 at 819 Scott Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Rev. Dr. Paul Tracy officiating.  Friends may visit with the family following the service.
