Ralph E. Mendenhall, age 77, of Ashland, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Ft. Myers, FL. His wife Teresa, daughter and two sons were there when he went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ralph was born October 15, 1944 in Ashland, the son of the late Donald E. Mendenhall, Sr. and Freda W. (McCarty) Polland.

On March 30, 1973 Ralph married Teresa D. (McKinley) Mendenhall who survives. Also surviving are his children, Toni L. (Matt) Queener of Elkhart, Indiana, Scott E. Mendenhall of Ashland, Ohio and Doug (Mindy) Mendenhall of Polk, Ohio; his grandchildren, Jared (Kirstie) Queener, Kailee Queener both of Indianapolis, Indiana, Baylie Queener of Covington, Kentucky, Bryce Mendenhall and Kylee Mendenhall both of Ashland, Ohio, Joshua Mendenhall, Kaden Mendenhall, and McKinley Mendenhall all of Polk, Ohio; along with his surviving sister, Terry (Bob) Knapik of Phoenix, Arizona.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Mendenhall and brother, Donald E. Mendenhall Jr.

Ralph and Teresa are members of the Ashland Dickey Church of the Brethren. Ralph was a life member of Elks Lodge 1360, where he had been a trustee. He was also a member of Ashland Fraternal Order of Eagles and Moose Lodge.

Ralph was owner of a number of businesses over the years, most recently Mendenhall and Sons Construction. He retired in 2011. He and Teresa especially enjoyed winters in Bonita Springs, Florida where Ralph would organize many day trips that included visiting sites in the Southern Gulf Coast area. Ralph enjoyed activities with members of the Leisure Time Park Community including playing cards, golf, fishing, and going to yard sales. He was an avid golfer.

At a later date, Pastor Jeff Messner will be officiating a graveside service for the family at Ashland Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
