Rebecca (Becky) Louise Shank, 59 passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Thursday March 10, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio. Becky was born at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland, Ohio on June 2, 1962 to Larry Mumaw and Roberta Weitzel.
Becky was a 1981 graduate of Ashland Senior High School.
She is survived by her two sons, Jason (Abbi) Pentheny of Polk; Christopher Pentheny of Ashland; Siblings, Carla (Ray) Martin of Columbus; Louise (Mark) Hunt of Ashland; Larry Mumaw of Chillicothe; her father, Larry (Darlene) Mumaw Sr. of Ashland; her only grandson Keaton Pentheny and many Nieces, Nephews, Aunts and Uncles. She was preceded in death by her mother Roberta.
Becky was an avid animal lover, she loved her two cats Pretty Girl and Patches very much. They would spend most nights staying up together watching reruns of shows such as The Golden Girls, Quantum Leap and The Munsters, they were her best friends and sidekicks. Becky also loved taking care of plants. Exotic plants and flowers were her favorites, the more the merrier. If she could have owned the Tropical Rain Forrest she would have. She also proudly embraced her Native American heritage, she collected all kinds of memorabilia from her cultural background. She would decorate her house with pictures, statues and art work that represented Native American culture. Above all else, she loved being a grandma, and her grandson was the highlight of her life. Becky cared deeply about people and would do anything for anyone. She had a big heart and will be missed by her family and all her friends.
There will be a family and friends gathering to celebrate Becky’s life at Heyl Funeral Home in Ashland, OH on Saturday March 19th from 11am-1pm.
