Richard Lee Miller age 84, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Jeromesville on July 10, 1938, the son of the late Francis James and Maxine E. (Helbert) Miller. Richard had been a resident of Ashland County all of his life. He had been employed with the Timken Co. as a machinist for 26 years before retiring in 2000. Richard was an avid old car enthusiast who enjoyed restoring old cars and attending car shows. He was a member of the “Good Guys” car club. Richard was a Veteran of the US Army and had served 3 years active duty Military Police.
Survivors include his daughters, Wendy Lewis, Jenny (Lance) Krebs and Kelly Krichbaum all of Ashland; his grandchildren, Tyson Lewis, J.D. (Sarah) Park, Joshua (Megan) McCarty, Justin (Sunny) McCarty, Tyler (Carli) Lewis, Tyson (Barb) Krebs, Brittany Kelly and Emily (Aaron) McGiffin; his 15 great grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jo (Metzger) Miller in 2012; son, Steven J. Miller in 1999; sister, Sharon Harris; along with his brothers, David Miller and Kenneth Miller.
Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Travis Mckenzie officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park with Military Honors conducted by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM till service time at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family.
