Richard D Sponsler

Richard D. Sponsler age 95 of Ashland, passed away on April 5, 2022 at University Hospitals Samaritan Health Center.

Born in Ashland on October 1, 1926 the son of Gerald and Nell (Swope) Sponsler he had been a Ashland resident all of his life.

Mr. Sponsler had been employed as the manager at SOHIO and then later BP before he retired. He was a graduate of Ashland High School and enjoyed working in his wood shop and gardening.

On June 12, 1945 he was married to Doris Krick who preceded him in death in 2001.

Surviving are two children; Suzanne Rollins of Ashland and Terry Sponsler of Ashland. Two grandchildren; Michelle Orrell of Louisiana and Kevin Clark of Ashland.

In addition to his wife Doris, Richard is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and sisters in law; Lyle (Pat) Sponsler and Merle (Marie) Sponsler.

Graveside funeral services will be held 12:00 PM at the Ashland Cemetery on Wednesday April 13, 2022 with Pastor Chris Thomas officiating.
