Richard (Dick) L. Powell

Richard L. Powell, 86 of Ashland passed away December21,2021 at the Good Shepherd Home.

Born in Hayesville, Ohio on October 24, 1935 the son of Raymond and Gladys (Long) Powell, he was a resident of Ashland County all of his life.

On February 20,1954 Richard was married to Margaret Jean Franklin who survives.

Mr. Powell had been an employee of the Faultless Rubber Company until his retirement in 1995 after 43 years of employment.

He loved hunting and fishing with his wife and family.

In addition to his wife Jean, he is also survived by two children; Susan Wise of Ashland and Keith Powell of Mansfield. Also surviving are grandchildren; Stephanie (Brian) Martin, Kyla (Stephen) Reynolds, David (Erin) Powell and Jeffery Powell. Nine great grandchildren also survive; Justin, Travis, Montana, Triana, Lily Powell; Jaxson and Henry Reynolds, Zachary and Ciera Lawson.

Two great-great grandchildren; Lucas Workman and Zaelyn Powell also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, David Powell and three brothers, Ray, Don and David.

A private family burial will take place at the Imhoff Cemetery. The family has asked in lieu of flowers that anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in Richard’s name please donate to the Hospice or Charity of your choice.
