Robert "Dale" Garlick

Robert “Dale” Garlick age 92, of Ashland, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 27, 1930 in Ashland, the son of the late Robert and Beulah (Galloway) Garlick. Dale was a 1948 graduate of Ashland High School. He had been a lifelong resident of Ashland and had been a Dairy Farmer all of his life. Dale was a member of Grace Church, he had enjoyed traveling with the church on several mission trips. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Gideons, he set up the fair booth for the Gidions. Dale was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War.

Survivors include his foster brother, Jerry (Mary) Funk; his children, Jerry (Tina Pond) Gardner of Sunbury, OH., Patricia (Roger) Funk of Ashland, Karen Goon of Ashland, Tom Garlick of Ashland, Sandy (Jim) Terry of La Rue, OH.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; along with his 3 step children.

In addition to is parents, Dale was preceded in death by his wife & mother of his children, Mary (Imelda) Shoup- Garlick, son in-law, Richard “Dick” Goon, brother, Harold Garlick, sister, Donna Coffman. Also by his 2nd wife, Barbara Deter & 2 stepchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Church on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Norm Johnson and Pastor Dan Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park with Military Honors presented by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
