Robert (Bob/Nick) Kim Nicholson of Ashland, Ohio passed peacefully on July 24th, 2025 at the age of 81 after a long term, courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born December 5th, 1943 in Spangler, PA to Robert J and Elizabeth (Coy) Nicholson. Bob was proceeded in death by his parents and brother, Kent Nicholson (Lori). Bob is survived by his wife Lois Nicholson and her children, Dawn Buzzard (Harvey), Lynn Artz (Jerry) and Keith Iley (Sheila). Bob is also survived by his 4 children, Robert (Bob) Nicholson (Sarah), Kerry Nicholson (Christy), Randy Nicholson (Mary Beth) and April Booker (Jason), an abundance of grand and great grand children and his brother Kip Nicholson (Judy).
Bob joined the Air Force in 1962 and was stationed at Sewart Air Force Base in Smyrna, TN. He was a C130 Loadmaster with many tours to/from Vietnam, among other countries in the region. Bob was honorably discharged in 1966.
Bob's professional career spanned many years within the telecom industry as both an entrepreneur and executive systems, sales and consultative expert.
Bob also was an enthusiast in many areas to include aviation and model plane building plus international travel across the globe both on business and personal leisure including many cruises with his wife, Lois.
Bob/Dad/Grandad will be fondly remembered and missed for his unvarnished insight/feedback including while driving amongst other "explicative’s" on the road.
Funeral arrangements hosted by Heyl Funeral Home in Ashland, OH. Memorial services are to be held at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
