Roger Doty Obituary

Roger Dean Doty, age 62, of Ashland, Ohio passed away Friday, April 16, 2021. He was born February 2, 1959 in Mansfield, Ohio, the son of the late Jacob "Wayne" and Erma Mae (Akins) Doty. Roger had a passion for information technology, which he made his career for many years. He would always be willing to lend a helping hand by sharing his knowledge and IT skills to fix his family and friends computers. He was a graduate of Ashland University where he studied Business. Roger was an avid day trader in the stock market, and always enjoyed talking stock projections with his son. He had a passion for politics, enjoyed movies, and listening to both country and rock music. Roger also loved learning about the Mayan Ruins, and treasured the memories created on his trip to Mexico with his son, Mike. He had a love for animals and one of his greatest joys was his cat, "Digit." On any given day, you could find Roger craving milkshakes and strawberry rhubarb pies!

Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Mike and Jessica Doty of Westerville; his granddaughter, Summer Reese Doty; Brother in-law; along with numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Lynn Boggs.

Graveside services will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery on Monday April 26, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Don Earlenbaugh officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made in Roger's memory to an organization near and dear to his heart. "The Cat House Feline Sanctuary" located at 1130 E. Main St., No. 136 Ashland, Ohio 44805 is where Roger adopted his dearly loved cat many years ago.
