Roger “Rah-Rah” C. Martin age 65, of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 20, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Ashland on November 29, 1954, the son of George and Gayle (Leiter) Martin. Roger had been a lifelong resident of Ashland and a 1973 graduate of Ashland High School. He had been employed with Schaub Developments in maintenance and previously had worked at Liqui-Box for over 25 years. He was a 35 year member of the Suck City Vanners Club. Roger had been an avid Bowler at local, state and national levels; he even achieved the ultimate goal of a perfect 300 score. He was very competitive and enjoyed golf, volleyball, horse shoes and corn hole. Roger was a friend of many with a huge heart that would help whoever he could. His life will be forever cherished by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his father, George Martin of Ashland; his daughter, Julie Channing of Kentucky; his son, Steven C. Martin of Polk; his step children, Jeremy Jones, Jason Jones, and Jennifer (Adam) Cones all of Michigan; his 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; along with his brothers, Gregory Martin and Doug (Becky) Martin both of Ashland. Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Gayle Martin.
A Celebration of Roger’s life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 12:00 P.M. till 5:00 P.M. at Turk Brother’s Pavilion 1903 Orange St. Ashland, Ohio 44805. Online condolences are encouraged along with family and friends to leave shared memories.
