Ronald Comstock Obituary

Ronald William Comstock

Born March 14, 1945 – May 19, 2021

Our beloved father passed away suddenly on May 19, 2021. Ronald was born to Jane Elizabeth Berkeley and to Chester Ronan and adoptive father James Comstock

Ron is predeceased by his wife Carol J Comstock of 27 years. His mother Jane, Father Chet, brother Thomas Comstock of Medina, stepson Corey Linn and Son-in-law Jamey Masingill.

He survived by his brother Kent Comstock, Ashland, Terrie Comstock, Medina, daughters Stacia of Bow, NH and Kimberly (Philip) Califon, NJ. His wonderful grandchildren Megan, Ryan, Aiden & Collin. He had many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Ron was the owner of Comstock Singer for many years. He and his wife Carol opened Kelly’s Deli in 1982 and it closed March of 2020 due to Covid restrictions. Ron’s Singer sewing machine store was a gathering place for all of his wonderful friends throughout the years. It was his favorite place in the world to be. He helped numerous sewing crafters to repair and supply their sewing machine needs. He also would spend his time repairing many schools sewing machines over the years to promote Home Economics programs for high schoolers. He and his wife spent many years running Kelly’s Deli and he felt a personal responsibility and love to all of his employees over the years. The number of repeat customers that patronized Kelly’s Deli over the years are endless.

Ron was a member of the Ashland Elks for 45 years, a sponsor of many bowling teams, and a little league coach. Ron graduated from Ashland Senior High School in 1963.

Ron had too many friends to mention and he treasured each and every one of them. He was always up for a good story, great joke, and even plan a holiday meal together. He loved to visit the casino and watching his favorite Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed the love of golf and organizing weekly golf outings in Ohio, as well as a yearly trip to Myrtle Beach with his buddies.

He was so proud of his grandchildren all graduating from college. Aiden and Collin from Rutgers University in NJ, Ryan from Plymouth State College in NH, and Megan from Bentley University in Boston and American University of Law.

Our father was a humble, generous, kind, funny loving man. We will miss him beyond what our hearts can handle. We will reflect on the years of sharing so many great meals and so many laughs. Rest In Peace Daddy, Brother, Friend, Grandpa, Uncle, we love you.
