Ruth Ann (Markham) Adkins

Ruth Ann Adkins age 76 of Ashland, passed away on Friday September 2, 2022 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

Born in Ashland on April 26, 1946 the daughter of Boyd Markham and Pauline (Weaver) Sheppard. She was born and raised in Ashland and resided in Sandusky Ohio. She was a graduate of Ashland High School and had been employed at Kmart in Ashland and Target in Sandusky. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing games both electronic and board games. She also dearly loved her dog, Dobie and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Adkins to whom she was married to on June 2, 1998.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Lori (Matt) Hill of North Lewisburg. Four step children also survive; Rhonda Adkins of Sandusky, Randal (Courtney) Adkins of Sandusky, Rodney Adkins of Ashland and Christopher (Megan) Adkins of Ashland.

Eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

Two sisters and one brother also survive; Bev Kemper, Janet Bright and Bill Markham.

Mrs. Adkins is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Dale Markham.

Funeral services will be held at the Heyl Funeral Home on Wednesday September 7, 2022 at 4:00 pm with Pastor Doug Magers officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
