Ryan D. Minter

Ryan Douglass Minter, age 43, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023 at his residence. He was born February 15, 1980 in Ashland, the son of Jeffrey and Sherry (Sexton) Minter. Ryan was a 1998 graduate of Wooster High School. Ryan was a veteran of the US Army and Army Reserves, he had served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Bosnia. He was an outdoors man, he loved the woods, woodworking, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed golfing and grilling out. He was an avid sports fan supporting, the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Survivors include his parents, Jeffrey and Sherry Minter of Hillsboro; daughter, Kaitlin Minter of Peachtree, GA.; son, Jonathan Minter of Peachtree, GA.; his grandparents, Tom and Mary Dilgard of Ashland; grandmother, Sharon Minter of Dayton;brother, Tyler Minter of Hillsboro Ohio; uncles, Greg (Michele) Sexton, Steve (Judi) Minter, and Joe (Melody) Minter; along with his aunt, Jennifer (Matt) Beattie and niece Lana Minter.

Ryan was preceded in death by his uncle, Tim Sexton; grandmother, Delores Yoho; grandfathers, Tom Sexton, Paul Minter, and “Best Friend” grandfather, Doug Webb.

A Celebration of Ryan’s life will be held at the Christ Community Evangelical Free Church on Saturday October 21, 2023 at 2:00pm with Pastor Chris Strong officiating. A gathering of friends will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Military Honors will be conducted by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard following the service. A Private family interment will be held at the Ashland Dickey Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family.
