Steven R. Thomas

Steven R. Thomas age 69 of Polk, passed away on September 30, 2025 at Kingston of Ashland.

Born in New London, Ohio, Mr. Thomas had been a resident of Ashland County all of his life. He had been employed as a metal fabricator with Automatic Welding and Metal Dynamics before his retirement.

Mr. Thomas was know for having a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards and his guns and gunsmithing. He also like to travel and enjoyed cars.

On August 2, 1974, Steven was married to the love of his life Reba Friend, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Reba, he is survived by one brother and one sister; Harlan (Cheryl) Thomas of Ashland and Cathy (Kenny) Leedy of Garfield, Kentucky. Also surviving are 22 nieces and nephews, 50 great nieces and nephews and 23 great great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bobby Dean Thomas and Del Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 4, 2025 at 12:00 pm at the Heyl Funeral Home with Pastor Jared Smeltzer officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm on Saturday October 4, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Nankin Cemetery.
