Sue Ellen (Reppart) Timmons

Sue Ellen Timmons, age 80 of Ashland, passed into the immediate presence of her Lord and Savior on October 14, 2025 at Kobacker House in Columbus surrounded by her family.

Born in Wheeling, West Virginia on August 10, 1945, the daughter of Thomas Alfred and Alma (Brokaw) Reppart, she was a resident of Ashland County since 1972. Mrs. Timmons was a homemaker and co-owner of Appleseed Cross Stitch, a store in downtown Ashland from approximately 1989-2004.

 
Sue also served as a member of the Ashland City School Board of Education for 24 years and assisted the Ashland County West Holmes Career Center in various capacities.

Sue demonstrated a vital faith in Christ, as is testified by her dedicated membership at First Presbyterian Church and Hopewell Church.  Her children joked that her well worn Bible looked like one of the original Dead Sea scrolls.

 
Sue will be remembered as an affectionate mother and grandmother.  She lovingly tended to her children and grandchildren by means of counsel, firm nurture, and by being present at as many of their ball games and performances as possible.  

In her free time Sue would likely be found baking, reading, discussing politics or serving at her church.

Sue attended Georgetown College in Kentucky and maintained friendships with her Kappa Delta sisters until her death.

On August 21, 1965, Sue married Larry Timmons, her husband of 60 years, who survives her.

Also surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law: Mark (Robin) Timmons of Columbus, Michael (Susan) Timmons of Ashland, and Matthew (Elizabeth) Timmons of Ashland. She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 22, 2025 at Grace Church in Ashland at 11:00 am with Pastor Matthew Timmons officiating.  The public is welcome.  Those who attend the service are invited to join the family for a fellowship lunch, which will be served at Hopewell Church (1023 Elm Street).

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday October 21, 2025 at Grace Church from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
