Vincent John Bon

Vincent John Bon, age 86, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Brethren Care Village. He was born January 30, 1937 in Ashland, the son of the late James and Concetta (Riela) Bon. He had been a lifelong resident of Ashland. Vincent was a 1955 graduate of Ashland High School and had attended Ashland College. Vincent had been employed with the US Post Office as a carrier from 1962 until his retirement in 1992. Vincent was a 50 + year member of the Elk’s Lodge, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Am Vets, and the US Postal Worker’s Union. Vincent was a US Veteran of the Army National Guard and Army Reserves. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, sightseeing and bird watching. He loved his friends, their Breakfast Club and playing poker.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan C. Bon of South Carolina; his son, Michael J. (Libby) Bon of Ashland; his grandchildren, Emily Bon, Maria (A.J.) Buettner, Jacob (Sydney) Bon, Sara (Mattaus) Beldoch and Alex Reis; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Beldoch, Avila Beldoch, Cecilia Beldoch, Michael Beldoch and Beau Vincent Bon. Also surviving are his brother, Virgil Bon of Florida; sister, Mary Ann (Dick) McKee of Arizona; along with his nieces, Sally, Connie, Anna- Marie and Monika.

In addition to his parents, Vincent was preceded in death by his brother and sister in-law, Jim (America) Bon.

A time of remembrance for family and friends will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Friday September 29, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Online condolences may be left for the family.
