Virginia K. (Lewis) Piatt

Virginia K. Piatt age 56 of Ashland, passed away on March 6, 2024 at UH Samaritan Health System surrounded by her family. 

Born in Suffolk, Virginia on October 11, 1967 the daughter of Steve and Betty Lou (Goodwin) Carpenter, she had been an Ashland County resident since 1971. Virginia was employed at Farm and Home Hardware. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Virginia had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and loved everyone. To know her was to love her.

Her life motto was Live, Laugh, Love. 

She was content relaxing on the back porch of her home just enjoying the backyard view.  She was truly happy and didn’t need anymore than her family and friends. 

On January 29, 1991, Virginia was married to Francis Piatt who survives.

In addition to her husband Francis, Virginia is survived by her mother, Betty Lou Carpenter of Ashland and two children and their spouses; Jessica(Tyler) Jewell of Jeromesville and Justin (Katalin) Piatt of Wakeman. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Zoey, Levi, Laci, Axton, Aiden and Sophia. Three sisters also survive; Betty (Roscoe) Bair of Ashland, Sweet Pea (Dink) Simmons of Columbus and Cindy (Manny) Daniels of Ashland. Numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Virginia is preceded in death by her father Steve Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held at the Heyl Funeral Home on Tuesday March 12, 2024 at 12:00 pm. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday March 12, 2024 from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery.
