William “Skip” Gary Coffman Sr., age 79, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at his home. He was born April 10, 1942 in Ashland, the son of the late William Frederick and Mabel Jean (Friend) Coffman. Skip had bee a lifelong resident of Ashland. He had been employed with U- Brand and Sterling Foundry Company.
Skip was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He most enjoyed helping people as much as he could, from cutting wood to giving rides.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; children, Regina (Mike) Nutter of Fredericktown, Bill Coffman of Medina, Charles (Shauna) Coffman of Mansfield, Tammy (Keith Smith) Wittman of West Salem, Shawna (George) McAndrews of Sullivan, Patrick Wittman of Mansfield, Donna (Matthew Campo) Wittman of Bailey Lakes, April Coffman of Ashland, Laura (Phil) Hunt of New Mexico, Larry (Jennifer Honeycutt) Coffman of Nova, William Gary (April) Coffman Jr. of Ashland and Phillip Coffman of Greenwich; his 29 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Scyoc; along with his brothers, Wayne (Debbie) Coffman, Gaylord (Nancy) Coffman and Robert (Janet E. ) Coffman.
In addition to his parents, Skip was preceded in death by a granddaughter, sister, Karen Roberts and brother, Fredrick Coffman.
Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Don Earlenbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the Ashland Veteran's Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the service on Tuesday, from 10:00 AM to service time at 12:00 PM. Online condolences may be left for the family.
