Patrick Cline age 75 of Savannah went to meet the Lord on Sunday March 25, 2018 at the Good Shepherd Home after battling dementia.

He was the son of Charles and Nora Cline and was born in Loudonville, Ohio on June 7, 1942. He was a graduate of Perrysville High School in 1960.

Patrick went into the United States Navy in 1960 and served two tours in Viet Nam. While serving he received the commendations/service award, Good Conduct medal, Cold War Medal, Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Accommodation Medal and many ribbons. He was an electrician and worked all over the ship, serving on the USS Diachenko APD-123 and USS Merrick AKA-97.

He met his wife Sharon Sutton in California and they were married on September 17, 1961 at the age of 19 and were married 56 years and had three children.

Pat worked many jobs, always moving to better himself. He was the Manager at the Clark gas station in Ashland and Mansfield. He also worked at the National Latex for many years. He was also employed at the Ponderosa Steak House as a cook and lastly was employed at McDonalds as a maintenance man.

He was a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church and loved to cook for the meals and kept the girls in the kitchen laughing. He had a raw sense of humor that made people either raise their eyebrows or break out in laughter. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, trapping, hunting, trap shooting and spending time in his wood shop making things. He was a member of Pheasants Forever; VFW and the AMVETS were he served as Vice Commander and Chaplin.

Survivors include his wife Sharon Sutton Cline; his daughter Victoria Shea, son David (Bev) Cline and son Patrick (Jennifer) Cline. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one aunt and numerous cousins nieces and nephews. Six sisters and one brother also survive Sandy (Stan) Rhoades, Noreen Trumpower, Cheryl (Bob) Ullman, Coleen Zody, Linda (Carter) Stephens, Pearl Gene (John) Huges and Donald Cline.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother John Cline.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 28, 2018 at the Savannah United Methodist Church with Pastor Johnnie Swann officiating. Burial will follow in the Savannah Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the funeral service at the Savannah United Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Good Shepherd Home for all the love and care. Special thanks to Patrick’s sister Linda and also to Heather, Kelsey and Dave. And also to Pastor Johnnie and all of the dear friends at the Savannah United Methodist Church.

I am deeply saddened by the death of your loved one. I remember Pat as a former classmate at Perrysville School. He was good natured and a friend to all.
