Lois F. Nell passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends on April 5, 2018.  Lois was born on September 21, 1932 in Akron, Ohio to Harold and Bernice Nisson.

She graduated from Merrilville High School in Merrilville, Indiana.  On June 2, 1951 she married Robert Leo Nell.  While her husband served during the Korean War she lived in North Carolina.  From there she moved with her husband to Ashland, Ohio to help her parents with their restaurant in downtown Ashland called Nisson’s Eat-a-Bite which is currently occupied by Downtown Perk.

Lois was the oldest of three children including Joyce (Bob) Covaciu of Indiana, and Sandy (Bob) Strine of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

Lois was a loyal friend and enjoyed Monday nights with the girls, crafting and playing cards.  She was also a long time member of the Pedal Pushers Garden Club and faithful member of the Ashland Christian Church where she was a founding member.

Although raising four children kept her very busy she worked at the Lynn Way Restaurant, for the Ashland City School’s, and most recently at Kehl Kolor.  However, her most treasured ‘occupation’ was being a grandmother and great grandmother.

Lois is survived by daughters Barbara Morejon, Dawn (Kyle) Robbins, and son Kurk (Traci) Nell, grandchildren, Shannon (Laura) Hamilton, Shawn (Lisa) Hamilton, Amanda (Joel) Chambers, Joshua Nell, Sawyer Robbins, Myles (Jessica) Robbins, Jason (Tanya) Nell, Olivia Elkins, Robert Merchant and Tiffany (Asif) Rana.  Her great grandchildren including Madelyn and Mae Chambers, Aiden and Ava Hamilton, Allysa Hamilton, Jaden Nell, and Laila and Zayn Rana.  She is also survived by sister Sandy (Bob) Strine and brother –in law Bob Covaciu.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, Daughter Shari Dinsmore and sister Joyce Covaciu.

Lois will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  But they are rejoicing knowing that she is in the presence of myriads of angels and resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. All her suffering has ended and she now waits to receive her new resurrected body on that glorious day when Christ will return to make all things new in heaven and earth.

Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Wednesday April 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Scott Myers officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Olivesburg.  Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday April 10, 2018 from 6 to 8:00 P.M. and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In honor of Lois, donations may be made to Ashland Christian Church, 1480 Orange R. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
